Jānis Lūsis will be inducted into the International Association of Athletics Federations Hall of Fame. The athlete won bronze, silver and gold Olympic medals between 1964 and 1972. He holds two world records and four European champion titles. 

Lūsis was born in Jelgava in 1939. He is one of the most famous Latvian athletes and is the only one who has won a full set of Olympic medals. Latvia has recognized the achievements of Lūsis by bestowing him the highest decoration of the country - the Order of Three Stars. Lūsis is the first Latvian to join the mentioned Hall of Fame.
