Improving figures for Latvia
Data of Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) shows that Latvia is on the right track renewing its economy.
Provisional data of CSB shows that the total foreign trade turnover in March 2012 comprised 9,7 % more than a month before and 9, 0 % more than in March 2011. Comparing to the previous month, export value in March 2012 increased by 11,6 %, while import value grew by 8,2 %.
Looking at the 1st quarter of 2012, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 6,8 % comparing to the 1st quarter of 2011. The most positive effect on the GDP had growth in industry, which was 11 %, and in trade, which was 10 %. Also the volume of the collected taxes on products increased by 20 %.
