Latvian National Team Set to Compete at 2012 World Hockey Championships

The 76th annual Men's Ice Hockey Championship kicks off tomorrow in Finland and Sweden, with sixteen nations set to compete in more than sixty hockey games in Helsinki and Stockholm from May 4-20.
This year, the Latvian National Team will play in the tournament’s Group B, alongside such hockey powerhouses as Russia, Sweden, and the Czech Republic. The Latvian team is currently ranked twelfth in the world in the IIHF rankings.
Team Latvian will play its first game on Saturday against Russia, currently ranked number one in the world. The game will start at 16:15 at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm. For a full list of all games, please see the website of the IIHF:
